• Inter House Cross Country

  On a sunny afternoon just before half term, our Cross Country event was held on the school field. Every pupil ran their very best to earn points for their House Teams.

  The winners for KS2 were Tabitha Budgen and Tio Barai and for KS1 Alfie Keenan and Willow Wilkin.

  The overall team winner was Phoenix.

  Massive congratulations go to each and every pupil for showing so many of our Pirbright School Values during the event.

  

• 3DC Class Assembly

  3DC put on a fabulous assembly this morning and got us all on board the Love Train as they celebrated Valentine's Day in style.

  The children wrote the assembly themselves and decided what they would like to include as a class.

  We were treated to Valentine's cards, poems, songs and dance routines to rival those on Strictly Come Dancing.

  What a lovely way to start the day of love.....

• 2HJ Class Assembly

  Today 2HJ told us a story called 'The Lost Dinosaur'. They brought dinosaurs to life and introduced us to the Fossil Posse who told us so many amazing facts about the Jurassic Era. The children made us laugh, cry and feel sorry for the Coelophysis who had lost his family when they went off to hide from 'the end of the world'.

• SNOW !!

  The promised snow finally made an appearance on Friday and in true Pirbright tradition the field was filled with sledging, snowmen, snowballs and generally lots of cold,wet and white stuff!

  

• 5EC Class Assembly

  In Year 5, when they arrived back from Christmas, they were assigned jobs from two different newspapers: ‘The Daily Pirbright’ and ‘The Pirbright Times’. The children were asked to report the story of ‘The Three Little Pigs’, using witness statements from Little Red Riding Hood, Shrek and Daddy Bear. 5EC’s class assembly re-told ‘The True Story of The Three Little Pigs’, which takes into consideration how the Big Bad Wolf may have felt, and whether he really was to blame after all…

  Using their journalistic skills, and their understanding of formal report writing, the children investigated the case, coming up with catchy headlines! Well done 5EC!
