  • 5AW Class Assembly

    Wed 21 Nov 2018

As part of their Space topic, 5AW wowed as with an amazing Space themed assembly on Thursday.

Unfortunately the Moon had gone wonky and so a group of Year 5 students were sent to monitor from ground control at NASA. Having watched how to make a rocket on Blue Peter, they set off into space, caught the Moon using a fishing net (and a little assistance from SIRI) and set the Moon back onto it's correct path.

Due to such a successful mission they were all invited to meet the Queen.

    Great job 5AW!

  • 2 GD Class Assembly

    Wed 14 Nov 2018

2GD performed fabulous first class assembly of the year last Thursday.

The Go Jetters were looking for a fifth member to join their team to help fix all the world’s problems.

Unfortunately for the existing four Go Jetters the auditionees were so good they all lost their jobs.

  • Year 6 World War II Day

    Wed 14 Nov 2018

To commemorate World War II, the Year 6’s dressed up for the day in various outfits including evacuees, land boys and girls and soldiers.

During the day we baked scones ready for our tea party in the afternoon where we were joined by grandparents who talked to us about their lives in World War II.

In the morning we made Poppies out of clay and painted them ready to turn into our own lovely display.

We also learnt to Waltz and Jive.

  • The Great Fire of Pirbright

    Wed 07 Nov 2018

On a very chilly Friday eve last week, Pirbright School hosted their annual community Bonfire Extravaganza.

This year's theme was Pudding Lane and the Great Fire of Pirbright.

A massive thank you goes out to Mrs Leadbetter, who co-ordinated the whole event, along with her wonderful team from FOPS for all their hours of hard work to make this event possible.

In addition, another huge thanks goes to Mr Leadbetter, Mr Brinicombe and their faithful team of bonfire builders without whom we would not have had the amazing bonfire and fireworks display that we did.

It was truly a spectacular event and raised just under £7,000 profit for the school funds.

Many, many thanks to all who came and supported the evening.
