  5LB gave us a fierce and fabulous insight into Anglo Saxon life during their blood thirsty assembly this morning.

  We learnt about the poem Beowulf, where our names originated from and some scary  facts such as the Anglo Saxons dyed their clothes in wee, covered their houses in cow poo and got married at 10 years old!

   

  Phew! Well done 5LB a superb performance.

  SPORTS CREW TRAINING

  Last Thursday, Mrs Dow accompanied the Y6 Team Captains to SJB School where they took part in their sports Crew training so they can come back into school and lead activities. They worked hard in their groups and could not have done a better job at representing Pirbright and our school values. Not only were they the most delightful of children to take on the visit, the organisers were very keen to let us know they are a talented bunch of children and they did us (and you) proud! They led activities with children from other schools and reflected on the Active Schools’ values focusing on the need for team work to be successful. The children have lots of ideas of activities they can now run in school time so watch this space for further information.
