COVID Catch-Up & Recovery Premium
The Government has provided schools with funds to mitigate the effect of the COVID pandemic on children who missed a significant portion of their schooling during the lockdown.
In 2021/2022, funding totaling £145 per Pupil Premium child was allocated to schools. This money has been budgeted alongside the school's Pupil Premium provision and details of the funding spending can be found in the Pupil Premium budget.
In 2020/2021 funds totaling £80 per child were allocated to schools. School leaders were tasked with assessing the best way to spend the money to ensure maximum impact for learners alongside balancing the logistics of school life. As the catch-up premium has been designed to mitigate the effects of the unique disruption caused by coronavirus (COVID-19), the grant will only be available for the 2020 to 2021 academic year. It will not be added to schools’ baselines in calculating future years’ funding allocations.
The plan attached details how the school intended to spend the funding for the academic year.
