The eagerly anticipated new Pirbright Science Lab is well underway and we are all very excited for the future of science at school! The project is due to be completed by January 2024 after going through all of the various planning processes over the last 18 months.  We’ve been well supported by the Learning Partners Trust in securing our financial position, and with some careful budgeting and support, we’ve been able to sign off on the project and begin.

The space used to be an external nursery so there is a good chance some of you have never been into the building before. If you are a Pirbright Club Classer (and have peered through the window) you will have seen lots of action/destruction in there recently; it is all starting to come together. For those who need more of a visual, there is an image of the design below. How Can You Get Involved?

• We are looking to work with local partners to secure additional funding to ensure the space can be as perfect as can be - every penny counts! If you work for a company that might like to support our project, then please do contact the school office so that we can reach out to them directly.
• We are hopeful that our parenting body will be able to provide some additional support to ensure that the children have all the equipment they need in the lab. Overall, we are looking at a cost of around £30 000 to fully kit out the space and this covers things like tables, chairs, storage, and specific scientific equipment (beakers, pipettes, measuring equipment, weights, trays, bulbs, thermometers etc) and so much more.
