Uniform
At Pirbright we are proud to identify with our school and wearing a uniform gives a sense of belonging to our school family. It is practical and smart, reinforces a positive work ethos and reduces expenditure for parents/carers. It is expected that children wear the school uniform each day, with the appropriate footwear. The school provides parents/carers with full details of the uniform to be worn (see below). Most items of uniform can be purchased from a local shop or online. Whilst we would like children to wear a logoed jumper or cardigan (which can be purchased from the school office), these are absolutely not compulsory. Likewise, parents can purchase logoed white t-shirts but these are also not compulsory. We encourage parents to seek uniform which meets the school’s expectations, whilst being affordable and convenient for them. FOPS run a regular second-hand uniform sale with details published in the school newsletter.
Winter:
✓ Royal blue school sweatshirt or cardigan (logo optional). ✓ School logoed fleece – entirely optional, but must be a PVPS logoed fleece. Can be worn in place of a jumper or cardigan. ✓ White shirt (tucked in), blouse or polo shirt (logo optional). ✓ Grey tailored skirt/pinafore* (knee length) or school trousers. ✓ Plain white/black/grey socks or tights. ✓ Suitable black shoes** with a closed toe. ✓ Sturdy trainers (not canvas) are permitted if they are jet black in colour (there must be no other colours or coloured logos on the trainers or sole). ✓ Suitable winter coat. *If children wish to wear cycling shorts underneath skirts or dresses then they are welcome to but they must be in school colours (blue, grey, white or black). ** Children are not permitted to wear any form of boots in school other than when requested for learning activities i.e. wellies. |
Summer:
As winter or with a blue/white checked dress/culottes/blouse or grey tailored shorts just above the knee. ✓ Caps are optional but must be in school or muted colours and with no logos. |
PE Kit:
✓ Royal blue T-Shirt ✓ Royal blue shorts (not cycling shorts) ✓ Trainers – ideally a second set just for PE in case of wet weather ✓ PE bag ✓ Optional – a blue, black or grey tracksuit or base layers is also useful for outdoor activities during the winter or similar coloured base layers. ✓ Optional – royal blue skort. *T-shirts with logos are not appropriate |
Fleeces are available to order via the school office at various points throughout the year; we don't hold a stock in school so they are specifically ordered.
