  • Cultural Creative Week : Africa

    Wed 28 Jun 2017

This week has seen the whole school take part in our African themed Creative Cultural Week. The children were grouped into their team colours and it was lovely to see the younger and older pupils in the school all working together.

Throughout the first three days of this week the children have studied The Kalahari, Kenya, Egypt, Madagascar and Nigeria and have then participated in activities linked to these countries or regions.

The children have been thoroughly engrossed in their learning whilst having plenty of fun in the process.

Some of the activities have included hieroglyphic art, model village making, dance, jewellery making, cave art, campfires and shelters, weaving, cooking, tribal masks and shields, spear making, rainforest shoeboxes and tie dying and many more. Please see the fun for yourself in the photos below.

The excitement doesn't end there as tomorrow all the children are taking part in an African drumming music session and some African 'Big Art'.

    Phew, what a busy week!!

  • Year 1 Wisley trip

    Wed 28 Jun 2017

Year One visit to Wisley – Tuesday 20th June

What a wonderful time Year One had at Wisley! In the morning we explored the gardens and made journey sticks and tree rubbings. In the Glasshouse we learned lots about exotic plants and how they grow. After lunch we had fun playing in the play area before heading off to look at the fruit, vegetable and herb patches. We also spotted some really tall sunflowers, just like the ones we had been growing at school! What a busy day!

  • Sports day and Family Lunch

    Fri 23 Jun 2017

After a blisteringly hot start to the week, the weather was much kinder to us on Thursday as all our young athletes took part in our school Sports Day. It was wonderful to see the children all supporting one another as they ran, skipped, tyre rolled, football dribbled and hurdled to win points for their team.

With a fabulous family lunch in the middle of all the activities it was certainly a very busy day!

Once all the points had been added up at the end of the day the Blue team were victorious with Orange team coming in a close second place.

    Well done everyone!

  • 3RE Class Assembly

    Fri 23 Jun 2017
  • 4SF Class Assembly

    Thu 15 Jun 2017

    Romeo and Juliet

The whole school was treated to a wonderful Shakespearean assembly this morning. 4SF’s performance of ‘Romeo & Juliet’ was full of warring families, doomed romance and an interfering nanny! The classic play was enhanced with amazing acting, beautiful dancing and unforgettable singing. It goes without saying that they also included their own, uniquely Pirbright, twist on the Bard’s work. What wonderful entertainment, congratulations and thank you to all of the children who took part!

Please go to the video resource section under the yellow homepage button to view videos of the amazing singing and dancing.
