Welcome to Year 6
Year 6 is an exciting and busy time in a Pirbright child’s school career. The year kicks off with an action packed trip to Horseshoe Lake! Lots of hard work follows, including studying World War II and focusing our efforts on becoming expert writers. At the end of the Autumn term, Year 6 are given the opportunity to tread the boards as they take on the lead roles in the Key Stage 2 production. Spring term allows children to refine their technological skills with topic highlights including circuitry, programming and designing control devices, ready for an ever changing world. Summer term begins with a chance for pupils to demonstrate all that they have learned in the statutory National Curriculum Assessments which they will have been fully prepared for and ready to conquer. As if that wasn’t enough to pack into a year, we begin our preparations for moving to our new school and ending our time at Pirbright on a high with the summer concert, end of year production, leavers party, leavers assembly and of course our spectacular residential trip to The Isle of Wight.
In Year 6 we have been studying autobiographies and writing all about memorable events in our short lives so far. Much like us, some of our stories are delightful and some are a little bit on the cheeky side! We've chosen some good ones to publish, so head on over the radio Pirbright, click on a name, sit back, relax and enjoy!
