Year 2 Victorian Day - October 2016

We weren't meant to enjoy our Victorian day but the children loved it and want more!  They arrived promptly in the morning in Victorian dress to be greeted by two very stern class teachers and through the day the children in Year 2 experienced what school was like during the Victorian times.  They recited poetry, learnt the Lord's Prayer, carried out rote practise of their tables and had had to practise their copper plate handwriting.  After a Victorian lunch supplied by Karen and her team, the children continued into the afternoon with needlework for the girls and technical drawing for the boys.  At the end of the day, the children said how much they enjoyed their day and were keen to have more Victorian school days in the future!
