Sports’ Report (1st May 2015)

Yesterday, Mr Smith took the Year 6 Girls’ Football team to the South of England championships in deepest, darkest Kent. Having won the WASPS tournament the team had represented Woking Schools in the Surrey championships where one again they were victorious and therefore represented the county in yesterday’s prestigious event. Drawing their first two games and winning the following two meant the girls finished top of their pool and made their way to the semi-finals without conceding a goal. Up against a very strong team representing Middlesex the girls had the better of much of the game but in the end, they were beaten by one goal to nil. To finish as one of the top four schools in the South of England is a phenomenal achievement and one of which I am extremely proud. They are a very special group of girls: Mae, Laura, Estela, Maya, Olivia, Amber, Hana, Grace, Lucy and Hannah.
